Container Wagon

This container wagon is my variation of a number of Lego's official freight train wagons.
This one originated from the 2014 60052-1 cargo train blue wagon (below).

My wagon is very similar with the addition of the yellow hand wheels on the side and a colour change for a touch of real life. This build can be reconfigured for a number of pallet and container options.

Without changing the yellow jumper plates on the deck, the standard configuration (first picture) can carry two 6x10 containers plus a 4x8 pallet (above); or three pallets (below). Obviously there are a number of combinations of pallet & container that can be achieved.

The second configuration (above) will take two larger 6x14 containers.

The third configuration with the additional barriers is exactly the same as the 60052-1 wagon.

Unfortunately the containers in the Maersk train set 10219-1 are 6x16 which limits the wagon to carry only one container with a minor change to the yellow jumper plates on the deck.

With a few jumper plates and barriers, the train can be rigged up for polar mission resupply.

There are many options but the underlying message is that 4x8 pallets and 6x10 containers/pallets will easily fit on the wagon without modification making is easy and versatile for interactive cargo game play.

This build is available for download on Bricklink and also on Rebrickable.
